The Victorian Ladies Tea Guild was formed on March 7, 2008, but its roots go back nearly two years before that. Originally, Joyce Carr started a business which she named The Victorian Ladies' Tea Guild, L.L.C. The goal of her business was to educate women on the dress and social graces of the Victorian period through workshops, fashion, and events. As part of her business, Joyce offered a membership to women and gave them a discount on her workshops and teas.
The business grew and so did the membership. Eventually, Joyce decided that the women who were members should form their own guild and become a separate entity from the business. Thus was born:
The Blue Parrot
(formerly: The Victorian Ladies' Tea Guild, L.L.C.)
and
The Victorian Ladies Tea Guild
Today, the Guild is run by its members. We plan to continue having the same types of outings as always:
- Restaurants
- Plays
- Antique shops
- Tea houses
- Weekends away
And, we have added:
- Monthly at-home Teas
- A 4th of July camp-out
- Traditional Victorian lawn games such as Croquet & Badminton
Plus . . .
- An annual trip to the beach in those oh-so-fashionable Victorian bathing clothes.
We would love to have you visit us for any event, and we welcome new members of any age.
Don't forget, members still receive a discount on
workshops and fashion teas at
The Blue Parrot.
